The Red Hat Society's official colors are:

Red hat with Purple apparel for fun loving gals over 50 and Pink hat with Lavender apparel for those ladies waiting to be 50.  In your birthday month, Purple Hat / Red apparel; Lavender Hat / Pink apparel.

Our chapter is dedicated to fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life.

We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together we join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together.

Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

The "red hat" idea was begun by Sue Ellen Cooper of Fullerton, California when she and a few friends took inspiration from a popular poem entitled

 "Warning" by Jenny Joseph
